LPN and RN Nursing Apprenticeships
Nursing Apprenticeship Partners:

- Must be an active, current nursing student at LBWCC, at least 18 years of age.
- Must have completed NUR 113.
- Students must complete a nursing apprentice application.
- The participating healthcare facilities select and hire apprentices based on the available open positions. Current employees may be selected for the apprenticeship. All apprentices sign an apprenticeship agreement.
- Student apprentices must commit to working for the same healthcare facility for the entirety of the nursing program. Clinical days students perform for nursing program clinical requirements are included in working days.
- Student apprentices must apply to the Alabama Board of Nursing for a nursing apprentice permit.
- Student apprentices are not paid for on-campus classes, labs, or simulations. Student apprentices are paid for clinical hours, not including simulation.
- Student apprentices will work 1:1 ratio with an LNP/RN nurse (mentor) from the healthcare facility. Students will be held accountable to the exact clinical requirements as non-apprentice students in the program.
Mechatronics Apprenticeship

- Students must complete an apprentice application.
- The participating facilities select and hire apprentices based on the available open positions. Current employees may be selected for the apprenticeship.
- Student apprentices will work 1:1 ratio with a mentor from the healthcare facility.
